Q: How can obesity be overcome?
A: Three things must take place within each person: insight as to why they overeat, why they need the extra weight, and how they can survive without the extra food and extra weight. No three questions are more powerful in removing the road blocks necessary to release a food addiction.
Before man came into the 20th century, food was considered a staple of life, not a hobby or habit. By the middle of the century, food had become a commodity being sold to millions through television advertising, demonstrating the implied joy of eating that item.
From that time forward, food has been considered a source of happiness or joy. Today, it is incumbent upon all who wish to release their addiction to food to release the mind-altering advertising falsehoods that food is essential to joy or happiness. Sit quietly and write out the answers to the above three insightful questions and then take note how quickly food’s focus will diminish. Believe in Christ’s plan to heal those who know that love and joy come from within.
