Q: What happens when a person dies?

A: In the final moments before a person draws their last breath, they often take a final look around at their surroundings.  This usually comes as a surprise to family at their bedside, believing that their loved one may be coming back to them.  But the wish of the dying person is just to let them know they have heard and felt their family’s love as they began exiting their body.

Soon after the final breath releases, the person inside the body – the spirit – lifts up from the body and takes shape once again as that individual.  It is often a bit of a surprise to the one who died that they are actually awake and free from their previous plight.  To their further amazement, they are greeted by a loved one who proceeded them into the afterlife.

The friend who comes to greet them takes them by the hand and together they exit the space on Earth called ‘mortal’, ceasing to be spirits there any longer.  Together they come through The Light – an exquisite ribbon of love – that time travels them into their final destination and together they walk with their ‘immortal’ eyes fully awake and alive.

No two people die at exactly the same moment on Earth.  Each man and woman has seconds of their own in which they time travel into their final destination, excluding and protecting them from the grief and sorrows that most often accompany others.  These seconds are just glimpses of moments from our side, but from the perspective of the person traveling through those times, it can feel like an eternity if their choices in life included using and abusing others for self gratification.

Those who believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ shall encompass their old life but without their sorrows or shame.  They shall come back to their original surroundings but with sin-free bodies.  There they shall live in The Light with the knowing that their loved ones shall soon follow them home.
