Q: Is it true God helps those who help themselves?
A: It is true. In fact, there is much more truth to this than most people realize because God is you! God is the very life force that keeps your heart beating and your eyes blinking and your feet moving. God is the reason you wake up in the morning and go to sleep at night. God is you but perhaps you weren’t really understanding that when God was first depicted to you as a human being of a single image, when in fact God is the face of every man, woman and child – without exception. The work that God intends for mankind to do is take on their own responsibility for themselves, at least. This is the very essence of Christianity, in that as Jesus saw ‘the God-within’ all persons, and he knew to drive from them invading forces that possessed them.
Not many human beings do their own work. Most work on their jobs, their cars, their homes and their retirement portfolios, but few realize the necessity of working on themselves as God-beings. So when a man or woman takes the time each day to determine that they are the working hands, eyes, feet and body of God – incarnate – they kneel before God and ask that God’s son, Jesus Christ, to lead them through the rest of their life so they may become leaders on Earth for true freedom, peace and brotherly love. Be assured that when you ask God to help you, you will be helped. However, God will help you do only and exactly as much as you are willing to do, for God offers you a helping hand but never pushes. God is love. God never wants you to know that you accomplished something important through intimidation or fear. Relate that your life is love, love, love, love, love and then thank God daily for that love! Then speak out loud to God and ask for all the help you need to be the best person you can be to assure God that Jesus’ work will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
