Q: Can a marriage survive an affair?
A: If each person in the marriage dedicates themselves to making their partner’s life their priority, they cannot only survive an affair, they can restore it to where it was supposed be… ...however, few believe in the word of God to become a servant to the heart. To reach deeply into your heart – deeper than your own needs and desires - is to bring out of you a version of yourself that is complete… ...however, few believe in sacrificing self in order to find self. To breathe life back into your marriage is easier and quicker than you may think with forgiveness at its core. Christ spoke of this often. Thousands heard him… ...however, few believe in truly practicing this.
RESTORATION PROCESS: Hold your partner’s hands. Look deeply into their eyes. Stay still. Say nothing. Only after each of you has taken in the love from your partner’s eyes - which comes after the regret, fear, doubt, blame and shame – can you continue. Each of you must now ask for the other’s forgiveness…no matter which of you strayed. Now accept their forgiveness, and then thank them for that forgiveness. You must each be willing to complete these steps in order to restore your marriage to its holy union. With love in your hearts and forgiveness in your eyes, you each become altered and your marriage becomes restored to receive Christ’s blessings upon your heads once again. Remember, awaken each day and thank God for the love of your life beside you. Then ask your partner what it is you can do to make their life better that day. With love and forgiveness as your priorities, your marriage will not only thrive, it will prosper!
