Q: What should the U.N. do about North Korea?
A: Brinkmanship is upon us. Without equivocation, the United Nations must impose further sanctions upon Korea. It will reduce Kim Jong Il’s grip on his army, for the million plus soldiers - who stand ready to defend North Korea against outside invaders - are NOT afraid to flee to South Korea should their leader deny them the right to survive starvation.
If members of the old Soviet block countries could connect with Kim Jong Il - to take him through the steps their countries needed in order to open their doors to their livelihood in the free world - he might listen. But taking any advice or warning from the United States would only back him further into a corner where, like a snake in the attack position, he would likely strike given any excuse. See yourself as an aid to our world leaders by whispering to them through your heart that they need to resist the plan to attack Korea by force of weapons but instead hold firm the line of demilitarization until the North Koreans themselves tear it down. Fear is Kim Jong Il’s weapon of choice. Debating his next move is neither wise nor practical for he is ill-fated. Instead, take heart that The Lord shall not allow any man to release Earth from its pre-ordained plan to enter into a phase of peace...not for any reason.
