A: Not as some may think.  The privilege of staying involved in our lives comes only through our permission.  So while the desire may be there for them to remain active in our lives, it is not automatic until we ask for their participation.

When a man or woman dies, they go through the doorway called ‘spirit’ where all things are NOT left behind.  Still with them are their memories, their personalities and yes, even their appearances, for they continue to project from their hearts their mind’s picture of the world - as they see it - just as we do so on this side. 

But because not everyone is driven by their heart (many are driven by their fears), many people cross over forgetting who they really are, for at some point during their life they took on the personality of someone else they admired, forgetting that their own personality was supremely important.  When this happens, they come home via senility or some other profoundly disabling memory disease that discharges the old, unnecessary filter of personality that was not their own…but they forgot.

Start asking your mother or father to stay close to you if they have crossed over.  While it isn’t that you need their permission or approval anymore, you are asking for their ability to influence events to go your way.  Believe in love.  They can and will move Heaven and Earth to make your dreams and wishes come true!

Build your share of the bridge to your loved ones so they have permission to influence your life in a joyous, positive and incredibly profound way.  They are deeply in need of knowing that you want their help.  Believe that they cannot interfere; only help when invited.

Be prepared, for this is when you will begin to believe that there is no such thing as coincidence or good luck.  It’s all about God; about love and trust.  Build your share of the bridge to your loved ones and invite more love and trust into your life!
