Q: I came out of THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST with one main question: Why did Jesus ask, “Father, why have you forsaken me?” since supposedly Jesus knew ahead of time ALL the details of his upcoming horrific crucifixion.
A: As Jesus’ aura of despair rose, he knew it was time to utter MANKIND’S final words of sorrow, and so he did. He knew ahead of time even of this utterance and felt the sorrow of it as much as he did for mankind’s deliverance of themselves into that place of believing they had ever been forsaken. Visualize Jesus in his final moments as yourself. Envision yourself on a crucifix with the pain intensifying to an extreme beyond all imagination and then take it on for ALL mankind. Now you have come near to his torture. Jesus saw, felt, knew and related to all that was evil, sad, deathlike and detached from God the Father and he cried out in all that MANKIND had said over and over to God. Jesus saw the fear on Earth and knew it had to be erased but he never knew it was his alone to do until it came upon him throughout that night in The Garden of Gethsemane. After that he had to reconcile himself to mankind’s inability to forgive themselves or each other and took that grief into the center of the circle of God The Father to be forgiven. Ask yourself daily if you have asked to be forgiven, for it frees you from that sadness Jesus alone felt on the cross. Be HEALED. Ask to be forgiven, every day. Love & Light, LYNN SCOTT |
