Q: At what point does sentience cease? I am mainly interested in the consciousness of animals, besides humans. I know by experience that cats and dogs are able to recognize themselves as beings, but we are taught that insects are so far “below” our level that their life is somehow less important. (Sentient: Having the power or feeling of perception.)
A: If all animals and insects could align their thoughts so the measure of their awareness could be observed, only the insects would be shown to carry the awareness of the air. They and only they carry the total sentience – or perception – of the air. This is indeed of the higher kingdom, although their fire of flight is unnoticed by mankind because man knows of only the kingdom that perceives the ‘seen’. If you know of yourself as a child of God – and that in all things God exists – you will continue to hear and receive messages from the totality of God’s children. From you, you can open to the antennae of the insects and tend to their ‘days of life’ and infill your hearing with their messages of total perception. Believing in the light – as insects do in all that they do – is the total awareness of beingness. Make no mistake about it, insects sing as they fly and relate that in their flight they exist for the simple act of all that they are, which means in their souls that they are of the total love of God’s wish to relate to ‘all that IS God’. Sentience has a ceasing perception born only of the one who demands to reveal no more to ones self. If you or any part of yourself has ever thought that you could not stand to hear more, see more, feel more, touch more or take-in more – in any value – your sentience will decisively disrupt. Ask of the home of your life – your soul – to open to the totality of your sentience and perceive the love in the light! Perceive why cats purr and dogs’ noses are cold; perceive why they perceive things as they do. Perceive that love IS alive and the wholeness of your soul is a symphony of light!
