Q: Assuming one knows moderation is key, how does addiction (even such as entertainment in general) relate to one’s progress?
A: An addiction, even to something that feels healthy, is not by its nature healthy. The mention of entertainment brings up a desire to be held in a certain light, a form of ‘otherness’. There are souls that need to open themselves through the ‘otherness’ of entertainment. If you were to see a picture of a soul, you would relate that the soul is always in pursuit of knowing itself in its ALL-ness. However, a soul requires only an idea of itself to get the glimpse – to sense the version – of itself which needs to be uncovered. If a person goes into an addiction phase, it is not so much that the action is negative or positive, it’s that the man or woman is not opening themselves to the action that will complete that need. Free yourself from the need to have repeated experiences. Although they may be very comforting at times, if you have a thirst and hunger for life be sure to advance yourself past any remnants of old needs. Be aware of this because as you grow into your future you will need to know of those sides of you which are not yet discovered. To discover unknown sides it is advised that you take in only ideas of ‘otherness’. Feel it for yourself and then move onto something new. If you repeat and repeat a particular form of ‘otherness’ beyond moderation, a sort of addiction will occur. If an addiction occurs, allow your mind to ask what it wants to achieve, for there is something in that form of addiction that your mind is seeking. Ask that your mind reveal it to you in a healthy way. To know of the need of the mind is to know the soul’s calling. Love & Light, LYNN SCOTT |
